This strategy allowed him to open up a substantial lead, peaking at a 2-minute and 26-second advantage and taking the Hyrox World Championship Title for the second consecutive year.
2024 Hyrox World Champion: Nice, France - Alexander Rončević
This race was everything fans hoped for and more. Alex Roncevic set a blistering pace right off the start line, closely followed by Michael Sandbach and Hunter McIntyre. From the onset, it was a three-man race. The lead changed hands multiple times between Alex, Hunter, and Michael at various stations. However, Alex Roncevic claimed victory at the final station, securing the top spot from Michael Sandbach.
Female Champions
2019 Hyrox World Champion: Oberhausen, Germany - Imke Salander
Imka Salander achieved a historic milestone as the first-ever female Hyrox World Champion, with a finish time of 1:08:08. After a brief hiatus from the sport, she made a remarkable comeback in 2023, clinching gold in the mixed doubles at HYROX Frankfurt, with her doubles partner Florian Gast. This victory underscores her enduring prowess and determination in the world of competitive fitness.
2020 Hyrox World Champion: Leipzig, Germany - Lauren Weeks
Lauren secured her first world championship in 2020 in an online streamed event, due to the in-place Covid restrictions. In a field that included the 2013 Crossfit Games Winner, Sam Briggs. This would turn out to be the start of what can only be described as dominant display, with more world championships on the way for Lauren.
2021 Hyrox World Champion: Leipzig, Germany - Lauren Weeks
Lauren entered the race, aware that a well-calculated and dominant performance could secure her second consecutive title. That is precisely what occurred.
2022 Hyrox World Champion: Las Vegas, USA - Kris Rugloski
Rugloski started off slower than anticipated, finishing the first workout in 4:25, which was only the seventh fastest time. The third workout proved particularly challenging for her, as she completed it in 4:43, putting her in tenth place.
Despite these initial setbacks, Rugloski gained momentum during the runs. She secured first-place finishes in both the fourth and sixth workouts. Notably, she completed the farmer’s carry workout in a mere 1:55. In the end, she finished the race with a substantial 36-second lead, becoming the 2022 Hyrox World Champion.
2023 Hyrox World Champion: Manchester, UK - Lauren Weeks
Weeks came back for the 2023 Hyrox World Championships season and clinched the top spot. She finished first in three out of eight stations and recorded the second-fastest run time. Although the sled pull was her slowest station, she compensated for lost time in other areas. The quickest time in the wall balls station secured her overall victory.
2024 Hyrox World Champion: Nice, France - Megan Jacoby
What looked like could be another dominant display by Lauren Weeks, was soon put to bed, as Megan Jacoby showed how dangerous she is and took a 38-second lead, leaving the sled pull and was never presented with any competition from this point.
Although there was significant controversy at the wall-ball station, between Vivian Tafuto and Viola Oberlander, Megan Jacoby was unfazed as he had already completed 95 wall balls by the time Linda Meier, who was in second place, began her set of 100 wall balls.
