The Elite 15 series represents the pinnacle of the HYROX fitness racing series. Each season, the top 15 athletes compete in various Elite 15 race formats, including Majors, Last-Chance Qualifiers, and the HYROX World Championships of Fitness Racing.
The Majors are four regional events that provide initial opportunities for athletes to qualify for the World Championships. These events are:
- European Major
- HYROX Major
- Scandinavian Major
- US Major
Athletes vie for titles, prize money, and the prestigious HYROX World Champion title.
However, securing a spot in the Elite 15 is highly competitive. Five athletes automatically qualify based on their performance in the previous season’s World Championships, European Championships, or US Championships.
For example, the following athletes have already qualified for the 2024 World Championships in Nice, France, based on their prior results:
Qualified for All Majors: Men
- World Champion: Hunter McIntyre
- 2nd at WC: Alexander Roncevic
- 3rd at WC: Tobias Lautwein
EU Champion: Alexander Roncevic- US Champion: David Magida
- 4th at WC: Ryan Kent
Qualified for All Majors: Women
- World Champion: Lauren Weeks
- 2nd at WC: Megan Jacoby
- 3rd at WC: Belle MacFarlane
EU Champion: Lauren Weeks- US Champion: Mikaela Norman
- 4th at WC: Vivian Tafuto
In addition to these automatic qualifiers, the top 10 individual times of the 2023 calendar year qualify for Major 1, completing the Elite 15 lineup.
At each Major, the top three finishers qualify not only for all remaining Majors of the season but also earn a slot at the HYROX World Championships. If a top-three finisher has already qualified, the slot rolls down to the fourth or fifth place but no further.
If different athletes secure podium positions across all four Majors, up to 12 slots for the World Championships can be awarded through Majors. This number may vary based on the results of each Major.
The remaining slots are filled through Last-Chance Qualifiers. Athletes can compete by signing up for these LCQs in the pro category at the designated race. This represents the final opportunity to qualify for the World Championships of Fitness Racing—the ultimate event in the Elite 15 series.
